LaserCAM Materials
TechSoft LaserCAM machines can be used with a wide variety of readily available workshop materials such as acrylic and MDF. (N.B. PVC materials should not be used as they produce dangerous by-products.)
 
Our policy is to make available to users harder to find or more exotic materials, thus extending the use and scope of these wonderful machines even further.

Laser Engraving Laminates
 

Laser engraving laminate is similar in appearance to that used for rotary engraving, but is composed of different materials more suitable for laser marking and cutting.

The material we supply comes from one of the world’s leading manufacturers and is made to the high quality required to give consistent and reliable results.

Laser engraving and cutting is ideal for a range of quick and simple CNC projects such as badges, key fobs, tags, panels, etc. This really is a fantastic medium for students’ design work.

TechSoft also stock magnetic laser engraving laminates which are ideal for creating fridge magnets and other magnetic graphic products.

Plasma
 

Plasma is an exceptionally strong polypropylene sheet material. It can be laser cut and scored to create interesting products including packaging. Its flexible property, and the fact that it can be riveted and eyeletted, means that really creative work can be produced.

Plasma is available in A3 and A2 sheets (700 mic).

Seven standard colours are available - Clear Natural, Clear Peppermint, Clear Lilac, Clear Misty Blue, Mineral Silver, Jet Black and Sparkle Blue.

Colorflute
 

Colorflute is a self coloured corrugated card. It laser cuts extremely well and can be used to create packaging, cards, etc. The corrugated finish gives objects both structural strength and an interesting texture.

Colorflute is available in A3 and A2 sheets.

Eleven standard colours are available - Polar White, Flame Red, Forest Green, Jet Black, Rye, Burgundy, Midnight Blue, Gold, Silver, Sunflower and Ivory.

Laser Grade Birch Plywood
 

TechSoft stock high quality 4mm and 9mm birch plywood which is manufactured specifically for laser cutting. Its edge finish when cut is a golden brown colour, unlike the black charred finish of standard ply. Another advantage of this laser grade ply is that the core material is the same quality as the outside sheets - giving a better cut edge with greater stability.

MEDITE (LASER GRADE MDF)

Different types of MDF vary greatly in composition and this can have a dramatic effect on how they laser cut. Medite is the best type of MDF for laser cutting and so we now stock this often hard to source material.

Medite is available in 4mm thick sheets.

IMAGE TRANSFER BOARD
New Product
laser grade ply

Image transfer board is medite MDF (ideal for laser cutting) with a special coating on one side to allow images to be transferred onto it using either TechSoft’s Laser Image Transfer system or sublimation. Either process creates a gloss finish image on one side of this medite board.

Students can design, laser cut and then transfer an image to create anything from point of sale displays, to clocks or jigsaws.

Image Transfer Board is available in 3mm thick sheet.
