What is a Heat Press?
A heat press is a commercial device for applying heat transfer graphics to textiles and other materials.

Why use a Heat Press?
There are three advantages to using a heat press in a school. Firstly, the heat and pressure are controllable, which means that you can set them both correctly for any material. Secondly, both the heat and the pressure are distributed evenly across the platen, giving consistent results across the whole platen. Thirdly, the larger platen area means that you can increase throughput in the classroom, as well as being able to produce larger work with greater ease.
What can I do with a Heat Press in school?
TechSoft’s range of heat transfer materials for textiles has grown over recent years. The range now includes standard iron-on-vinyl, iron-on-flock and printable iron-on-vinyl. All of these materials have the potential to add an extra graphic dimension to textile projects and are also a great way to incorporate CAD/CAM into the curriculum. All the transfer products are of commercial quality and of course, in a commercial setting, they would all be applied using a heat press. In schools the materials can be heat applied using an iron, but the results are far more consistent if you use a heat press.
Heat presses are also a vital part of the Laser Image Transfer process. They provide the even heat and pressure which is required to transfer the laser printed image onto any number of different substrates.
N.B. Although TechSoft do not supply sublimation systems, all of the heat presses featured on this page are suitable for use with the sublimation process.
