What is PE-DESIGN LITE?
Brother’s PE-DESIGN LITE is a cut down version of PE-DESIGN 7. Its simplicity and lower cost means that it is ideal for schools starting out with CNC embroidery. PE-DESIGN LITE gives students the power to convert 2D Design V2 drawings, scanned images, and clipart into embroidery data. The software also comes with a library of designs ready to sew.
So how do you create an embroidery design? Simply load an image (in bitmap format) which is then automatically converted to stitch patterns. You can then add decorative embroidery text to the design if you wish. 35 embroidery fonts are available.
Once the stitch patterns have been generated PE-DESIGN LITE allows you to easily edit the stitch style (Satin or Fill) and sewing density/direction for each region of the design if desired. You can even change colours and the sewing order before generating a realistic stitch preview.
Why buy PE-DESIGN?
If you already have an embroidery machine, or are considering purchasing one and you want your textile students to have the complete CAD/CAM experience you will need a piece of embroidery software. In our opinion you won’t find a better starting point than Brother’s PE-DESIGN LITE.
What about PE-DESIGN 7? PE-DESIGN LITE has two hoop sizes available (100 x 100mm and 130 x 180mm) and so if you are outputting to an Innov-is 500, 700EII or 1200 you really don’t need anything else.
However, if you have a larger embroidery machine and wish to use a larger hoop (eg., to embroider several student’s work at the same time), you will require PE-DESIGN 7.
