What is PE-DESIGN 7?
Brother’s PE-DESIGN 7 is a suite of software used to create and manage embroidery designs. PE-DESIGN gives students the power to create embroidery designs from scratch, or to convert 2D Design V2 drawings, scanned images, and clipart into embroidery data.
So how do you create an embroidery design? The software can be used in several different modes according to the user’s desired start point and outcome. In the simplest mode the user just loads an image which is then automatically converted to stitch patterns.
Source images may be the user’s own bitmap drawings, bitmap clip art, photos, etc. The software also allows the use of a scanner if desired. Depending on the type of image, the user simply chooses the most appropriate style from auto punch, photo and cross stitch.
Alternatively, users may create their own simple drawings in the software. It is even possible to combine images, add text, etc.
Comprehensive user control over stitch creation is also possible. Each section of the design can be assigned a colour, stitch style, angle and length of stitch, etc. It is even possible to manually create stitch patterns which can be repeated to create unique area fills.
Finally, the user can preview the design and even watch an animated sewing simulation.
Users can also print out images of their designs and output the sewing information. This is a great tool for reviewing student’s work.
What about Clip Art?
Whilst you can start designing with a bitmap clip art drawing, the software also comes with a large library of designs, ready to sew, in the Design Database. These high quality designs are a perfect introduction to CNC sewing, and will guarantee instant success for students.
Why buy PE-DESIGN? For students studying Textiles at GCSE or A Level PE-DESIGN 7 must be a serious consideration as it offers professional embroidery features in a student friendly package.
Departments with larger embroidery machines (ie., hoop sizes greater than 130 x 180mm) will require at least one copy of PE-DESIGN 7 to utilise the full potential of the machine.
